Western Music
Western Vocals

Electronic Keyboards

Acoustic Guitar
Acoustic guitar instruction covers fundamental techniques such as strumming, fingerpicking, chord progressions, and music theory. Students learn to play a variety of musical styles, from folk and country to blues and classical, on the acoustic guitar.
Electric Guitar
Electric guitar lessons focus on mastering techniques specific to the electric guitar, such as bending, vibrato, shredding, and using effects pedals. Students learn to play solos, riffs, and rhythm parts across genres like rock, metal, blues, and jazz.
Drums
Drum lessons focus on developing rhythmic skills, coordination, and musicality through techniques such as rudiments, drum fills, grooves, and polyrhythms. Students learn to play various styles including rock, jazz, funk, and Latin percussion on acoustic drum kits.
Djembe
Djembe instruction introduces students to the vibrant rhythms and techniques of West African drumming. Students learn to play traditional rhythms, solo patterns, and improvisations on the djembe while exploring the cultural and historical context of the instrument.
Cajon
Cajon lessons teach students how to play this versatile percussion instrument, which originated in Peru. Students learn basic hand techniques, rhythmic patterns, and grooves used in flamenco, Latin, pop, and world music styles, making the cajon a dynamic addition to any musical ensemble.
Indian Music
Vocals (Indian Classical)
Hindustani vocal lessons offer a profound exploration of Indian classical music's vocal tradition. Students delve into the intricacies of ragas (melodic frameworks) and talas (rhythmic cycles), learning to express a wide range of emotions through their singing. Instruction covers essential techniques such as swara (musical notes), taan (melodic patterns), and layakari (rhythmic improvisation). Through rigorous training, students develop vocal clarity, control, and agility.
Harmonium
The harmonium is a portable keyboard instrument that plays an integral role in Indian classical, devotional, and folk music. It produces sound by air being pumped through reeds when keys are pressed. The harmonium provides harmonic accompaniment and melody support, making it a versatile instrument for solo and ensemble performances. Its distinct sound and ease of play make it popular among students and performers alike.
Tabla
The tabla is a pair of hand drums that form the rhythmic backbone of Indian classical music. Consisting of a smaller drum called the tabla and a larger drum called the bayan, the tabla produces a wide range of tones and textures through varied hand techniques (bols). Tabla players explore intricate rhythmic patterns (taals) and improvisations (tabla solo or tukda) within the framework of traditional compositions (bandish). Renowned for its expressive versatility and dynamic interplay with other instruments, the tabla is an essential component of both classical and contemporary Indian music.
Sitar
The sitar is a plucked string instrument known for its resonant sound and intricate melodies. Originating in ancient India, the sitar features a long neck with movable frets, sympathetic strings, and a gourd resonating chamber. Players use a plectrum (mizrab) to produce notes and embellishments such as meend (glissando) and gamak (ornamental oscillations). Sitar music is characterized by its emotive expression, rhythmic complexity, and improvisational nature, making it a captivating instrument to learn and perform.

Director
Menino Mendes, a seasoned singer and musician with over four decades of teaching expertise, including prestigious tenures at institutions such as Bombay Scottish and Jamnabai Narsee School for over 20 years. Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Mendes has honed his craft, nurturing students to surpass their musical boundaries.
Under his guidance, the school band clinched victory at the esteemed 125th year band competition of Trinity College of Music, London in 2013, alongside triumphs at numerous Inter-school competitions.
Beyond teaching, Mr. Mendes boasts a rich performance background, having shared the stage with renowned bands like Chris Perry and the 'MINIBEATS', and spearheading his own pop-rock ensemble, 'ECSTASY', where he led as the charismatic crooner and band leader alongside Kevin D'Souza.
With a gift for melody, Mr. Mendes effortlessly imparts musical wisdom to students of all ages, from the youngest prodigies to seasoned enthusiasts, ensuring a harmonious journey of learning and growth.
